Indian two wheeler market segment shuffles its products on regular duration. India drastically transformed itself as a lucrative market for automobile makers from around the world. The demand, opportunities, and potential of the market don’t allow the market players to settle with satisfaction.

Pawan Goenka, a top official of Mahindra affirmed that they will be shifting their area of focus from commuter segment to premium motorcycle, which will be based on the Jawa and BSA. Mahindra took over the Jawa and BSA brands in last year and anticipate to start selling Yezdi motorcycles and Jawa in India, probably by next year.

The company has already gone live with the website called ‘Yezdis of India,’ which is one of the affirmative intimation that Yezdi and Jawa motorcycles will be seen on the Indian shores soon. Yezdi at some time had a unique place in its customer’s hearts. The companies used to sell its modern styled motorcycles 20 years back in the country and yet it is one of the most loved bikes. The craze for those classy motorcycles remains till date and would remain ahead.

Mahindra’s strategy is to remove Gusto and Centuro from its product portfolio and start dealing with premium motorcycles in India. Jawa, a Czech motorcycle manufacturer had introduced its all new Jawa 350, single-cylinder, 350 CC air-cooled engine OHC 4-stroke model in Europe. The engine can churn out 26 HP and 32 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 4-speed transmission gearbox. This motorcycle is assembled with ABS system, which is for the time installed in any Jawa motorcycle.

It is projected that the Jawa might be seen at the 2018 Auto Expo with 350 OHC and post that the wheels are projected to rock and roll on the Indian streets. It will be quite interesting to see how Jawa motorcycle will compete its closest rival Royal Enfield. Both the automakers have an astounding fan base following.

Some months before, Honda had also announced its strategy to give a tough fight against Royal Enfield by launching its cruiser motorcycle in the coming period. Thus, Indian motorcycle market is projected to witness great growth prospects with this new business strategy and the new players entering the market.
